Enjoy a memorable stopover at the Uganda Equator in Kayabwe and have an opportunity to take memorable pictures. DAY 2 – Gorilla Trekking & Batwa Cultural Immersion
Energize with breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for a crucial briefing by expert rangers. Then, embark on the highly anticipated gorilla trekking adventure deep into the rainforest. Guided by experienced rangers, you'll track your assigned gorilla family, culminating in an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures up close. Witness silverbacks protect their group, playful youngsters, and nurturing mothers – a truly humbling experience. Capture stunning photos and gain fascinating insights into their behavior and critical conservation efforts. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved dinner and rest. How physically fit should I be for the Kibale trek?
The trek through Kibale Forest requires a moderate level of fitness. You’ll be walking along forest trails that can be uneven and sometimes muddy, but there are routes suited to various fitness levels. A good pair of walking shoes and a bit of stamina will go a long way.
Is there an age limit for gorilla trekking?
Yes, participants must be at least 15 years old to take part in gorilla trekking. This regulation is strictly enforced and permits are issued only to those who meet the age requirement.
How long do the walks last during the Kibale trekking experience?
The chimpanzee habituation experience runs from early morning around 5:30 a.m. until approximately 7:00 p.m.
Night walks through the forest usually last between 1.5 to 2 hours.
